Title: Spirals, planets and moons
Artist: [personal profile] mific
Rating: G
Fandom: Original art
Notes: Well, I managed the black and white versions in the 3 minutes but I wasn't trying anything complicated.
Then colouring in the planets and the moon phases took a lot longer than 3 minutes afterwards, of course!
Fineliner, watercolours, and sharpie.

They're here on my journal, linked to the full-sized art.

Here's my second go at the challenge, this time with a normal black pen. I used up the whole 3 minutes this time and drew my own circles with the help of a lid on watercolour paper so I'd have to option of colouring with watercolours later.

Title: 30 circles part 2
Artist: mekare
Rating: G
Fandom: Original art
Content Notes: Winsor&Newton 0.8 pen from a Scrawlrbox I got some time ago, Fabriano watercolour paper. I tried to keep to my approach of random squiggles which worked so well with the brush pen version. As you can see I started out with very few and short marks and changed to unbroken lines (saving time!) later on. There are 33 circles because I started drawing the bigger ones first (with the help of a broken spotlight) but noticed they were too big and had to change.

Hi everyone. First, let me say that it has been really inspiring to see so many entries for this challenge already. It certainly motivated me. I had a go today and tried to apply what I learned from your experiences: 3 minutes are super short so I tried to keep it as simple as possible, no concept, no trying to use colours and just doing it as quickly as possible.

Here's my attempt:

Content Notes: A4 paper, Pentel brush pen. It definitely helped that the brush pen made it easy to make different looking marks of varying shapes. I approached some of these like drawing made-up characters/letters in a foreign language.

OK, so that was harder than I thought it would be.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to print off the template so I drew 90 circles (30 on each paper)!! My hand is aching after that - kidding!

I will be back with Part Two with the colouring in for Nature and Patterns. I'm going to leave the Faces as they are.

Well, it was fun and challenging!

Content Notes: Created for the 30 in 3 challenge. I did the top 5 and then three minutes went by too fast, so I reset and started doing a face part per row.

Content Notes: Created for the 30 Circles in 3 Minutes Challenge. Here are my first couple attempts at this challenge. It sounded simple enough, but I gotta say, this was a lot more challenging than expected! O_o

I thought some of these might be fun to colour afterwards so have included those versions as well. :)

Sometimes the greatest challenge is in simply getting started. Here's a neat exercise that can help with overcoming that obstacle:

Drawesome Challenge 30 - 30 Circles

Challenge #30 - 30 Circles in 3 Minutes

Start with a page with 30 blank circles on it,
and 3 minutes on the clock.

Fill in as many circles as you can, using pen or pencil. The aim is all about QUANTITY, not quality. Your circles can be random designs or variations on a single theme. Your drawings can even extended outside the circles themselves.

Remember, the goal is simply to fill as many as possible as quickly as you can. The motive behind the 30 circles is to stop yourself from self-censoring. When you go for quantity, you don’t have time to ponder whether your idea is good or bad; you can edit and further develop those ideas later. This is the stage where creativity flourishes.

A round-up post for submissions to this challenge will be done on Saturday 27th June, 2020.

Happy Drawing, everyone! :)
